The largest hotel unit of Fatima, with several different spaces and services, was born with a solidarity purpose: to be the economic support of the Divine Word Congregation’s missions (SVD). Built over the years in a phased manner, it is in 1960, with the acquisition of ‘Iria Pension’ (changing it’s name soon after to ‘Divine Word House’), starts what is today’s ‘Steyler Fatima Hotel, Congress & Spa’.
Initially there was only one residential building, but in 1979, with the licensing of a new building with 76 rooms and three years after with the licensing of another building with 132 rooms, with a total of 208 rooms, ‘Divine Word Hotel’ is classified with 3 stars.
Based on the obvious need to show the international character of the hotel and expressing greater emphasis on the quality and innovation in the services provided, in 2009 the designation is changed to ‘Steyler Fatima Hotel’.
In 2015, with a clear need to follow the market’s requirements and to ensure a service of excellence, Steyler Fatima Hotel has undergone a deep process of requalification, repositioning and internationalization. We have created new services in order to diversify the offer, changing the designation to ‘Steyler Fatima Hotel, Congress & Spa’ and increasing it to 4 star rating.
